I was looking for a natural-looking
tone-up cream that wasn’t dry and harmful to my skin, and this looked perfect
for what I was looking for. And thankfully, it is! It brightens up my
fair-light skin with golden/olive undertones well. It does this without looking too fake
or too stark white, like other tone-up creams do. It can be used on the face
and body too, I tried it on my legs to brighten a dark spot and it worked
well! Unfortunately, I think this cream will work most easily on people with lighter
skin tones, as it may not look very natural on people with deeper skin tones :(
However, it needs to be said, that if
you need to cover any sort of very visible blemish (scarring, dark marks,
pimples, etc), this is NOT going to help very much, if at all. This is only for
brightening your skin tone and evening the color if you have some minor unevenness. The advertising says it’s good for
a natural, no makeup look, and it’s true. Unfortunately, you can get away with
wearing just this only if you have no major blemishes to cover (I still have to
use a separate concealer with this to cover my dark under eye circles). I haven't tried mixing it with foundation or using it has a base before foundation as the ad suggests, but that will definitely help with giving some coverage!
This is a very moist cream, though
not oily, so it could work for a lot of skin types. Its consistency is like whipped cream! ^^ I find that when I wear
this, I have to only put my serum, toner, and maybe emulsion for my skin care,
but skip my face cream. If your skin is too moist under this cream, the apricot color
won’t really show. Your skin has to be ‘drier’, if that makes sense—not over
saturated with moisture, because the apricot color just won’t show very much. I
have to put on 2-3 layers of this cream before it evens my skin color
satisfactorily. It also reapplies really well, with no caking.
It smells lovely and sweet and the
packaging is adorable. One thing I want to mention about this cream is that I
was actually shocked on how full the jar was—it was literally filled to the
brim! In my photo it appears less because I decanted some of the cream into a
smaller jar (the snail-shaped container in the photos). Thank you Peripera for being so generous XD <3
I think I pretty much love this
cream, and I hope Peripera won’t discontinue it D: planning to buy a second jar
before winter settles in, in case it does get discontinued before spring. Highly
recommended if you’re looking for a nice, natural tone-up cream! :D
